Journal Prompts – Week Two

read

We made it to week two of six. How has it been for you? I have had a wonderful week with eye-opening conversations and events, joy-filled moments, and a ton of organization and preparation for this year! There have been moments of complete exhaustion because of all the things going on in my mind, but I’ve embraced that as part of my personality, so I am learning to make idea lists and move on until I am ready to explore new ideas and activities.

As promised, each Sunday for six weeks I will post prompts for journaling. They will be a mix of creative, reflective, and other prompts based upon what’s going on in my head for the week. Some weeks, they will turn into posts in the future, other times they are just things that floated through my mind that I journaled about or thought would be fun to write about so I am sharing them.

Pick a prompt and write until you feel done, or set a timer for 15 minutes and see what comes out. Remember to tag me when you’re done or backlink to this blog so I can stop by and read what you posted!

For those who are visually impaired, scroll past the pictures for the section with the prompts written out. I hope this helps you participate as well!

What happens when the clock strikes 2?
Every conversation and inner thought you had yesterday is played for the whole world to hear. Write out how you feel when you hear it played back and note who you'll have to apologize to.
Write a poem about what is happening in the photo. Make it personal.

The photo has a thick chain morphing into birds flying away with a sunset in the background.
The event that takes you from despair to praise happens this year. Write about it.
What's happening in this photo?

The photo has a heart inside of a birdcage. The door is closed but a little off-center. The heart is made from twine.

  1. Shell, are we limited to writing for just ONE prompt, or can we do more? Blessings to you! ❤

    1. Hi Zelda, I’ve seen that you love to write so please feel free to do as many as you’d like and backlink to them. I will be caught up with projects this week and have my new schedule in place to allow me to read, engage, and really get to know folks!

      2. Exciting!! Blessings to you as well! I’m off to sleep myself after some prayer. Kate had a post this week that just caught me hard so I have to talk with God. 6:30 am is going to come much too soon this morning!! Have a great day!
